@firt Perf anti pattern isn't the only label I'd apply to it. Again, it's been a genius(!) hack at the time, but IMHO an anti pattern now (perf, maintainability, caching,…). Where font-display: swap solves many Web font issues, the same doesn't work for icons as there's no fallback.
