@raymondcamden @0xjomo @ericlaw For Google Search Appliance, there’s googleon/googleoff (support.google.com/gsa/answer/6329153?hl=en#57a1e30a-63b2-4470-86a5-94a6c06912be), which does exactly what you want, but despite the misleading name it’s unfortunately not taken into account by Googlebot as far as I can tell.
