It looks like the popup condition (developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Window/open#Popup_condition) could be a single point of failure: “The condition is implementation-depepdent and not guaranteed to be stable.” It certainly was when I used it for HTML sitemaps. 👴☁️
