@Gorsefan @ChromiumDev Nice, thanks for the reply (example URL?)! DL is what the HTML 3.0 example (blog.tomayac.com/2021/01/24/ruby-html-footnotes/#footnotes-in-html%2C-then-and-now) used, too. I know progressive enhancement is perfectly possible with JavaScript. I am especially interested in pure HTML+CSS solutions.
