@claviska Worth noting here is the fallback behavior of var() (developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/Using_CSS_custom_properties#custom_property_fallback_values), so you can leave full design freedom to the user of your element while at the same time providing a solid baseline. Now that support’s there, I prefer part() though.
