@steveruizok Google has a policy called IARC for this: opensource.google/documentation/reference/releasing#iarc. By default everything belongs to them, but you can apply for something to be yours. I’ve gone through the process a couple of times for clearly orthogonal projects to Google’s business and it was never denied.
